The Bartholdi Fountain was designed by Frederic Bartholdi (who later created the Statue of Liberty). It is located in the U.S. Botanic Garden, on the grounds of the United States Capitol, in Washington, D.C. The fountain was placed in the garden in 1932. In 2008, the Architect of the Capitol began a complete restoration of the fountain. The original statue was restored by Robinson Iron. Roman Fountains provided modern lighting, water filtration and pumping systems. The restoration was completed in 2011.
